NO! Just come on in…though during our holiday season, Saturday and Sunday afternoons can get busy. If you prefer a quieter time, during the week is a great option.
Unfortunately, the front end is designed for walk-in customers and it is on a first come-first serve basis. This is due to the fact that we don’t have time limits for our guests and the amount of time needed to complete a project is highly subjective based on design and age. However, you can call ahead (972.547.4472) to get an idea of how busy we are. If there is an available table that will accommodate your group, we will hold it for 15 minutes.
If you have a large group (8+), scheduling a private event may be your best bet. Click here to learn more about a private event, it’s a lot easier than you may think.
Give us your name & cell number, we will give you a call when the next table is available and will hold that spot for 15 minutes. Downtown Historic McKinney is a great town to walk around if you are waiting for an available spot to paint – there are wineries, boutiques, old fashioned candy and popcorn stores, antiques and lots of super cool places to grab a bite to eat.
It really depends on what you plan to do! To paint pottery, there is a huge selection to paint from – over 300 items now! Prices range from around $15 – $78. We have lots of kid-fun pieces (average $17), trendy pieces like owls & plaques (average $25), mugs and glasses (average $20) and tons of dishes like plates and platters. To fuse glass, projects range from $22 – $60+.
Cash and/or credit card (all major credit cards accepted). We do not accept checks at this time.

Of course! There is something to paint for every age! All glazes are non-toxic, lead free and easy to clean up on skin and clothes. To work with glass, ages 6 – 11 must have a dedicated, involved adult working with them. Ages 12 & up can work with glass on their own providing caution is used.
Do to the nature of kiln-fired arts, slight imperfections can occur. Your individually handcrafted pieces along with their imperfections and slight slips of the artist’s hand are what make them special. On rare occasions, kiln fired pieces can crack or shatter during the firing process. And on even rarer occasions (I promise – it is far and few between), there is human error on our behalf or factors that are beyond our control. If a piece cracks or shatters, you will be notified immediately and a credit will be issued. We value your patronage and rely heavily upon your recommendations to friends and family. Please know that if something unfortunate does happen, we will make every effort within reason to rectify the situation to your satisfaction because we pink puffy heart love our customers.
Though Aunt Lucy was probably the coolest aunt ever, the answer is unfortunately, no. To ensure the quality we expect, we do not fire outside pieces. Most pieces from online sources are incompatible with our glazes. However, if you call our studio, we can sometimes recommend someone local who will fire pieces for you. Hope this helps!
